Perry Archangelo Bamonte, longtime guitarist and keyboardist for The Cure, has died at age 65 after a short illness over Christmas at his home, the band announced. Bamonte initially joined The Cure’s road crew in the mid-1980s and became an official member in 1990, contributing guitar, keyboards, and six-string bass on multiple iconic albums. He performed in more than 400 shows during his first tenure and later rejoined the band for an acclaimed world tour beginning in 2022. The band remembered him as a warm-hearted, creative, and vital part of their story.
