A parody card depicting the ultimatum: Trump pressing NATO to halt Russian oil purchases, or face U.S. sanctions and tariffs. "Oil Ultimatum Overlord" looms as protest and diplomacy tremble under oil politics.
President Donald Trump has issued an ultimatum to NATO countries: he will impose significant new sanctions on Russia only if all NATO members first halt purchases of Russian oil. He also proposed 50-100% tariffs on China over its Russian oil imports. Several NATO members (e.g. Turkey, Hungary, Slovakia) still purchase Russian oil, prompting criticism and diplomatic tension.
