All valid submissions are welcome and appreciated!

1) Please attach .DOC files (if you use them) and remember we only have Word 2000.

2) Make your email subject easy to recognize: "AD Article", "AD Op Ed", or something that will make it very obvious that it's a real email.

3) Use the this new email address:
artcol-@-americandaily.us unless otherwise directed. (remove the "-"'s SO IT WILL WORK :=)

4) If you blast to many addresses, the DCC filter may dump your email as SPAM, please consider this issue.

5) Attaching your file always makes it easier to process on this side, since there is less junk to filter.

6) Please avoid really huge images in your email, because it may fail to process and it costs us $'s in bandwidth penalties.

7) AD is rated PG or soft PG-13, please consider this in your content.

3) Basic HTML Formatting Rules
Basic HTML Formatting Rules Authors should limit themselves to certain formatting features. Therefore, it's best to type your text in a rudementary text editor like Notepad, because MS Word or other higher end word processors can insert various invisible control codes that can yield undesirable effects after I process the text for posting on American Daily. But if you'd rather create your work in a word processor, then at least make sure to "save as" a plain text file. That will strip off any invisible codes that may cause mischief with my web software. Those who wish to submit their articles as HTML-coded text files, please follow these text formatting rules: <b>Turning Bold Text on and off</b> or <strong>Turning Bold Text on and off</strong> <i>Turning italics on and off</i> <u>Turning underlined on and off</u> "Placing words within quote marks" You can type single and double quote marks (and apostrophe) from the keyboard, but make sure the text editor that you’re using generates straight quotes, instead of smart quotes (i.e. the curly quotes). MS Word will generate the curly types, which is not good for the web. However, from within Notepad or other basic text editors, you can do a global search and replace (ctrl-h) to convert the curlies to the straight ones. When you want to indent a whole paragraph to distinguish it from the rest of the body of the article (for example, when quoting from another source), use the blockquote commands: <blockquote> This paragraph will be indented a few points, to make it stand out from the rest of the lines of text. There's no need to use two line feeds before and after the commands. Just hit "enter" once before and after the blockquote commands. </blockquote> Do NOT use: <p>new paragraph on and off</p> or <p /> Or the line feed command <br /> INSTEAD, just hit "Enter" twice (two carriage returns) to start a new paragraph. (When your article is displayed on American Daily, you'll see a normal space between your paragraphs.) NOTE: Do NOT insert links or special HTML tags into the first paragraph. The paragraph becomes the "description" for that articles complete page as read. Thanks to Gary Krasner for his help with this tip.
