Affordable energy is essential for jobs, justice - and better health
Energy piece by Guest:
Niger Innis (9/5/11)
EPA needs to address health and welfare issues it has thus far ignored, say minority coalition - The Environmental Protection Agency insists that its recent air quality initiatives will protect minority and poor Americans from pollution that “disproportionately affects” their health and impairs “environmental justice.” The Affordable Power Alliance is not convinced.

‘Could She Keep Her $2 Gas Promise?‘
Energy piece by Dennis T. Avery
(9/4/11)
CHURCHVILLE, VA - Michelle Bachmann recently promised that, if elected President, she would get gasoline prices back down to $2 per gallon, She reminded us that gas was $1.79 when President Obama took office.
Israel’s Terrible Choices
Middle East piece by Alan Caruba
(9/4/11)
I was eleven years old when Israel declared its independence and sovereignty in 1948 with the blessing of the United Nations. World War Two and the Holocaust were over barely three years and many of Europe’s Jews needed a state of their own to rebuild their lives. Jews from throughout the Middle East were forced to flee nations in which they had lived for centuries. Over time Israel would absorb Russian Jews and others from around the world.

No Number Of Broken Windows Can Save Us
Economics piece by J.J. Jackson
(9/3/11)
I know it was predictable. But it is still pathetic. In the wake of Hurricane Irene ripping up the East Coast, although much, much weaker than was predicted, there are people salivating about how the billions in damage may provide a spark for the sluggish U.S. economy. I really wish I knew how many more times we have to suffer through this sort of tripe from people who obviously have never bothered to learn anything of importance except how to pound on keys and produce idiocy.
‘September 8th 2011 - A New Direction or More of the Same?‘
Economics piece by Guest:
Chris Clancy (9/3/11)
On September 8th President Obama is going to make a speech. The content of that speech is going to have a profound effect on all of us, one way or the other.

Ride to the Sound of the Guns
War piece by Robert R. Owens
(9/2/11)
He graduated with the highest number of demerits and at the bottom of his class. He was the poster child for graduating by the skin of your teeth. Yet he also became the youngest Major General in American History and the man General Sheridan believed did more than any other to win the Civil War(1). He was a fighting commander whose standing order in combat was, “Ride to the sound of the guns!“ Perhaps it flowed from the fact that while at West Point George Armstrong Custer didn’t study very much, that he had only one strategy, and only one tactic. The strategy was victory, and the tactic was charge.
Musings on the Hannity interview with former Vice President Cheney
History piece by Ari Kaufman
(9/2/11)
1. Those who watched, or who’ve have heard Colin Powell’s whining, or who read President Bush’s Decision Points, realize now that there were A LOT of mature, intra-party debates in Bush Administration. I don’t see that in Obama Administration…at all. Seems everyone just parrots the same cliches.
Our least sustainable energy option
Energy piece by Paul Driessen
(9/2/11)
From a land use, economic, environmental or raw materials perspective, wind is unsustainable - President Obama and a chorus of environmentalists, politicians, corporate executives and bureaucrats are perennially bullish on wind power as the bellwether of our “clean energy economy of the future.“

Assessing Qaddafi
History piece by Daniel Pipes
(8/30/11)
On September 1, Mu’ammar al-Qadhdhafi (the proper transliteration of his name) would have been ruler of Libya for exactly 42 years, making him the world’s longest ruling head of state. As he leaves the scene, his wretched reign deserves an appraisal.
‘Mouse’ Traps Readers Into Lively Romp with a Rodent
General piece by Rev. Miles
(8/30/11)
It is rare for an e-Book to be reviewed, but this compelling Barnes and Noble offering is such a treat for the mind and eyes that it would be a disservice not to alert readers to such a magificent little work that is such a joy to read. Cathy Taibbi knows how to tell a good story. She is a born novelist.

The death of due process for men in higher education
Femi-Nazis piece by Guest:
Harry Crouch (8/27/11)
“civil(1) rights n. those rights guaranteed by the Bill of Rights, the 13th and 14th Amendments to the Constitution, including the right to due process, equal treatment under the law of all people regarding enjoyment of life, liberty, property, and protection…“ - All Americans have “civil rights”, not just women. Yet the U.S. Department of Education seeks to deny men our most sacred of protections from oppression—the right to testify on their own behalf, the right to representation, the right to witnesses; and the right to examine accusers.
Idiot Ohio Congressman Bans, Confiscates Devices at Townhall
Information Police piece by Warner Todd Huston
(8/27/11)
I go after the left all the time for opposing free speech and for doing its best to shut down citizens, especially at townhall events. Well here is an example of a Republican doing the same thing. His actions are those I’d instantly condemn were it a left-wing Democrat (but I repeat myself) perpetrating it. And so, I similarly condemn Rep. Steve Chabot (R, OH 1st District) for acting the jackbooted authoritarian at his recent townhall.
Department of Ed Rewrites the Constitution, at the Expense of Men
Femi-Nazis piece by Carey Roberts
(8/27/11)
If college administrators were turning a cold shoulder to rape victims and female students were dropping out like flies, the recent Department of Education sex mandate might begin to make a little more sense.
Spreading ‘Big Oil subsidy’ disinformation
GreeenIsm piece by Paul Driessen
(8/27/11)
Meanwhile real subsidies are driving real businesses, energy and jobs out of America - Every American manufacturing company gets tax deductions that help it create jobs and strengthen our economy – whether it produces newspapers, furniture, cars or fuel. Eliminating those deductions would increase unemployment and further slow our nation’s desperately needed economic recovery.

GE Stabs the US in the Back
National Security piece by Alan Caruba
(8/26/11)
In 1876 Thomas Alva Edison opened a laboratory in Menlo Park, New Jersey for the purposes of exploring how to produce and distribute electricity. History records that he invented the incandescent electric light bulb there. By 1890, he had established the Edison General Electric Company, now know simply as GE.

Note to Post: Cover Katie Perry, not Rick
Election 2012 piece by Guest:
Michael R. Shannon (8/25/11)
Republicans won’t know for months how seriously voters in Iowa and New Hampshire will take the presidential candidacy of Gov. Rick Perry (R–TX), but right now the Washington Post takes him very seriously indeed.
No Spark: The Unanswered Questions of the Chevy Volt
GreeenIsm piece by Warner Todd Huston
(8/25/11)
Every time we turn around these days President Obama is touting the idea that the “future” of America lies in green energy and one of those greenie ideas is an Obama favorite: electric cars. Not to let him down, Government Motors has obliged by pushing the Chevy Volt as the car of the future. But thus far the future looks a lot like GM’s present; a whole lot of failure leaving a whole lot of questions.

Climate prostitutes, charlatans and comedians
ClimateGate piece by Paul Driessen
(8/23/11)
Their “research” would be hilarious if it didn’t cost taxpayers and consumers so dearly - Put these guys on Comedy Central. Put ‘em in an asylum ... a mandatory restitution program ... jail perhaps ... or a witness protection program, if they turn state’s evidence on other perpetrators. But keep them away from our money – and our energy, economic, healthcare and education policies.

Cut Loose at Fifty: Chapter Four - The Girl in the Garden
Life piece by Guest:
Chris Clancy (8/22/11)
There are many reasons for coming to teach in China.
I’m Calling Out the New Atheist God Haters to Put Up or Shut Up!
Religion piece by Don Boys, Ph.D.
(8/22/11)
The New Atheists or New Barbarians as I describe them in my new book, The God Haters, have had a good run of best selling books, televisions talk shows and generally very positive media coverage. Their goal is clear: legally prohibit any parent, pastor, or teacher from teaching that Hell is real and the exclusive way of personal salvation based on Christ’s death and resurrection. I would not obey such a state or federal law–not even if pigs learn to fly and shrimp learn to whistle!

Global warming fraud: Iconic polar bear on melting ice cap a hoax
ClimateGate piece by Offsite
(8/20/11)
(NaturalNews) Images of periled polar bears sinking into arctic seas because of melting polar ice caps have become an iconic symbol of the devastating consequences of so-called global warming.
Palestine - Jerusalem Challenges The United Nations
Middle East piece by David Singer
(8/20/11)
Jerusalem’s continued existence as an undivided city will remain unaffected by any United Nations (UN) decision recognizing a Palestinian Arab State based on the June 1967 armistice lines.
‘Beware The Mexican Strawberries?‘
Federal Budget piece by J.J. Jackson
(8/20/11)
I get into a lot arguments with conservatives over very non-conservative causes they believe in. For some reason there are just some conservatives who do not have a problem with certain unconstitutional acts. And just like liberals do, they all sorts of ways to justify their support for said heinous things. You know, like how Ron Paul finds ways to justify requesting earmarks for his district while simultaneously claiming to be against earmarks.

The 75th Anniversary of the Moscow Show Trials
Show Trials piece by Bruce Walker
(8/19/11)
This year is the diamond anniversary of much wickedness: the Spanish Civil War, the reoccupation of the Rhineland, the Berlin Olympic games, the annexation of Ethiopia by Fascist Italy, and the rise of the radically militarist Hirota government in Japan all happened within a few months of 1936. Another greater evil began on August 19, 1936: the Moscow Trials. Until then, totalitarianism had covered itself with a fig leaf of plausibility.
Younger Veterans Still Have Battles To Fight
Veterans piece by Thomas D. Segel
(8/19/11)
Harlingen, Texas, August 2011: Congressional support for our nation’s veterans and retired military personnel is becoming weaker with almost every election. Fewer and fewer members of Congress can boast records of military service. Where once a large segment of that body proudly ran for public office displaying military credentials, few who now campaign for office can identify themselves as having proudly worn the uniform of our country.

Computer Beats PC Game After Reading Manual
Computers piece by Offsite
(8/18/11)
Normally, covering computer science articles are a bit of a strain, but two things about a recent one had a strong personal appeal: I’m addicted to the Civilization series of games, and I rarely bother to read the users’ manual.
David Suzuki insults, but won’t debate
ClimateGate piece by Guest:
David R. Legates (8/18/11)
As the climate scare fizzles, Canada’s celebrity environmentalist resorts to ad hominem attacks - David Suzuki has never met, debated or even spoken with my colleague, scientist Willie Soon. But as more people dismiss Mr. Suzuki’s scare stories about global warming cataclysms, Suzuki has resorted to personal attacks against Dr. Soon and others who disagree with him.

White House Mischief
The Executive piece by Daniel Pipes
(8/16/11)
The White House engaged in two puerile and quickly-exposed gambits last week that exposed the Obama administration’s amateurish and deceitful Middle East-Islamic policies in a painfully obvious manner.

Law piece by Jim Kouri
(8/14/11)
