The Next ‘Macaca Moment’
   TheFringeMedia piece by Offsite (7/22/10)

In the heat of 2006 election cycle, Virginia Senator George Allen was only a few months from wrapping up his re-election campaign fight against challenger Jim Webb. In the summer, some polls had Senator Allen ahead by as much as 10% points. Even though public sentiment was wavering on the then-3 year old war in Iraq, Allen and his camp seemed that victory was very much attainable. That all changed in August when the now infamous “macaca moment” happened.

The Possible Progressive Blueprint For America
   Progressivism piece by Offsite (7/22/10)

Yesterday Glenn Beck discussed a long lost manifesto from 1969 by Bill Ayers’ Weather Underground called “You Don’t Need A Weatherman To Know Which Way The Wind Blows” on his radio program. For those of us who have been following the Obama Administration closely, many of their policies seem very orchestrated toward a particular goal. Nearly all aspects of American life have been channeled over the past year and a half to run through the executive branch of our government; namely the White House. From banks to health care to national defense and beyond; “There’s a czar for that!“ Why?

Disappearing Cap and Trade
   GreeenIsm piece by Offsite (7/22/10)

Conventional wisdom says that cap and trade is dead, since America’s crippled economy simply can’t absorb another blow. Yet, while proposals to limit emissions of so-called greenhouse gases through a trading program may be on life support, it’s not quite time to administer last rites.

ACCF/SBE Council Study on Kerry-Lieberman Bill
   GreeenIsm piece by Offsite (7/22/10)

Double-Dip Days
   Depression/Recession piece by Offsite (7/22/10)

NEW YORK - The global economy, artificially boosted since the recession of 2008-2009 by massive monetary and fiscal stimulus and financial bailouts, is headed towards a sharp slowdown this year as the effect of these measures wanes. Worse yet, the fundamental excesses that fueled the crisis - too much debt and leverage in the private sector (households, banks and other financial institutions, and even much of the corporate sector) - have not been addressed.

DC Declares War On States
The Republic piece by Guest: Chuck Baldwin (7/21/10)

Among the limited duties of the US Government enumerated in the federal Constitution is Article. IV. Section. 4. “The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion.“ However, for several decades now, the federal government in Washington, D.C., has shown great ambition and propensity to engage in activities to which it was never authorized, and to ignore those responsibilities with which it is specifically charged. The responsibility of the federal government to protect each State against invasion is a classic example of the latter.
