Campus evangelists clash with police
Police State piece by Offsite (5/24/09)

A campus evangelism group is stunned today, as a ministry event at a community college in Ohio resulted in four members being arrested, one on a felony assault charge that the ministry’s leader claims is fabricated.

Misinterpreting the Christian Response
Culture Wars piece by Kevin Roeten (5/23/09)

Many “alleged” Christians fail to see typical Christian responses to evil in the world. In the haste to stop the killing of 6 million Jews, thousands of Christians signed up to go and fight. But closely scrutinize who says Christians stood back and watched in silence.

Corporatism comes to America
   Government piece by Offsite (5/23/09)

“Fascism should rightly be called Corporatism, as it is the merger of corporate and government power.“ Benito Mussolini - Some members of the Republican National Committee have recently wondered aloud what others of us wonder privately. What name do we give to the direction in which Democrats and the Obama administration are taking America?

Here comes the freedom movement!
Big Brother piece by Offsite (5/23/09)

You’ve probably never heard of the Freedom21 Federal Credit Union. It wasn’t among the “big” financial institutions getting bailouts from the federal government. It was not in the news because its managers got million-dollar bonuses. In fact, it is a relatively new financial institution created by, and for, the organizations and individuals who believe the federal government has gone way beyond the authority granted to it by the U.S. Constitution. It is a part of a new awakening, a mobilization in preparation to stop what is perceived as a march toward socialism.

Man has no regrets defending Oklahoma City pharmacy
   Crime piece by Offsite (5/23/09)

Jerome Ersland was back at work Thursday filling prescriptions and hoping that by taking the life of a 16-year-old boy two days earlier, he had saved others.

Pakistan drives Taleban from mountain stronghold
Middle East piece by Offsite (5/23/09)

It was the bloodiest battle yet in what has been called a war for the survival of Pakistan. The Taleban had set up their main military camp on a 7,000ft mountain ridge overlooking the picturesque Swat Valley and were using a labyrinth of caves and underground bunkers for shelter.

Home: No place for Bible study
Police State piece by Offsite (5/23/09)

County demands pastor obtain $10,000 permit to host friends - A San Diego pastor and his wife claim they were interrogated by a county official and warned they will face escalating fines if they continue to hold Bible studies in their home.

Homosexual Activists Taking Aim at Proposition 8
Progressivism piece by Guest: Armand C. Hale (5/23/09)

Two amendments have been proposed in California to overturn Prop 8, the noted pro-marriage measure approved recently by voters. One is an amateur effort by students which would abolish marriage itself. The second is more formidable, because it has already been filed.

Too Little, Too Late: GPS May Crash By 2010
   Government piece by Offsite (5/22/09)

Thanks in part to a lack of oversight, a government agency Wednesday warned that unless the U.S. Air Force is able to acquire new satellites soon, the Global Positioning Systen may crash by next year, wreaking havoc with the public and military operations.

The Desperate Democrat Facelift
Demercrats piece by Christopher Adamo (5/21/09)

All is not rosy on the political left. Barely four months into the Obama Administration and America’s grassroots is thoroughly fired up. Democrat leaders, while largely pretending to ignore the effervescing public sentiments or denying their significance on the nightly news, clearly are becoming nervously aware of the situation. Once again, a major effort is underway to change or camouflage the reality of the liberal agenda, since in its real form it will only outrage and alienate a majority of the population.

Repeal All “Hate Crimes” Laws
Culture Wars piece by Guest: Matt Barber (5/21/09)

Lynchburg, VA - The U.S. Senate is preparing to vote any day on S. 909, a bill that would grant specially preferred government status to a select few citizens based on the behaviorally driven, fluid and undefined concepts of “sexual orientation” and “gender identity;“ this, to the express exclusion of other citizens.

‘Preconditions: Why is Obama Placing Them On Israel But Not Iran?‘
Middle East piece by Aaron Goldstein (5/21/09)

You would think the President of the United States would give pause before engaging Iran.

Prediction:  Supreme court nominee will be Hillary
Supreme Court piece by David R. Usher (5/21/09)

I predict that Hillary Clinton will be Obama’s nominee for Supreme Court.  If not this time, she will most certainly get it the next time around.

‘Postage:  A Superficial or a Substantive Subject?‘
Government piece by FreeCongressFoundation: Marion Edwyn Harrison (5/21/09)

Most of the time among many people the subject of postage when treated at all is treated superficially. That is readily understandable. However, there are major substantive aspects - cultural, economic, political.

Judeo-Christian Americans Have Failed Themselves, Their Faith and Their Country
Religion piece by Thomas D. Segel (5/19/09)

Harlingen, Texas, May 18, 2009:  America has the largest infrastructure in the world designed to promote spirituality.  The land is filled with thousands upon thousands of churches, temples, religious schools, and religious organizations.  However, according to an extensive study conducted by the Barma Group, a research organization specializing in religious studies, the nation is still not able to advance itself spiritually.

   Economics piece by Offsite (5/18/09)

Investment guru Marc Faber says the financial system must be cleansed to save capitalism.

Don’t tread on me
Police State piece by Guest: Carolyn Hileman (5/18/09)

Since the fall of 1775, the Gadsden or don’t tread on me flag or motto has been a part of our history, a part of our bravery, a part of us. Raised at a time when our country was fighting to be born and still flying on porches across this vast country of ours and now it has become another sign, a sign of extremism, a reason to be pulled over if you have it on your bumper and one wonders how long it will be before having this flag flying at your home will be considered reason for search and seizure? Hard to imagine that a symbol of our heritage would be cause for investigation, relegated to contraband and a signal to law officers everywhere that you are a potential terrorist, but it is. This flag has long been considered a symbol of a free American, an American who will stand at the ready to serve his country, his neighbors and his friends, now stands for someone who is against the current administration and therefore considered an extremist.

Ethanol Industry’s 15% Solution Raises Concerns
Bird-Brain Flu piece by Offsite (5/18/09)

The Environmental Protection Agency is preparing to make an important and far-reaching decision this year that will affect more than 500 million gasoline engines powering everything from large pickups to family cars to lawn mowers: whether to grant the ethanol industry’s request to raise the maximum amount of ethanol that can be added to gasoline.

Government Money Is a Toxic Asset
   Economics piece by Offsite (5/18/09)

Remember those “toxic assets” that were clogging the financial system a few months ago? Well, despite all the billions in government bailout programs, they’re mostly still there. And in trying to clean up the system, the Obama administration has actually created a new category of toxic assets that banks desperately want to get off their books—namely the U.S. Treasury’s forced infusions of capital.

The natives are restless
   Taxes piece by Offsite (5/18/09)

The old line used to be - “Wanna buy a watch, a ring, a painting?“ - generally uttered by some street sleaze trying to palm off hot merchandise.

Flaw in the ointment
   Economics piece by Offsite (5/18/09)

According to the modern Friedman-Keynes synthesis, there are two tools in the hands of most national authorities that permit them to attempt fine-tuning the economy. The first tool, monetary policy, is the bailiwick of the central bank, which in the United States is known as the Federal Reserve. It has great influence over interest rates, which represent the price of money. Increasing the interest rate is supposed to force the economy to contract, while lowering it is believed to encourage the economy to grow.

The Department of Homeland Security is a “Man-Caused Disaster”
Police State piece by Tom DeWeese (5/18/09)

The uproar began a few weeks ago when the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued a nine page report, entitled “Right-wing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment.“  That official document of an agency of the United States Federal government said, “Right-wing extremism in the United States can be broadly divided into those groups, movements, and adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups), and those that are mainly anti-government, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely. It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration.“

Obama at Notre Dame: It’s About Lives not Opinions
Progressivism piece by Rev Bresciani (5/18/09)

The administrators at Notre Dame had it in mind to foster tolerance and diversity with those of differing opinions. Among the graduating class a few students had Obama’s circle logo pasted on their caps leaving no doubt what was in their minds.

Supreme Court To Hear Major Case Challenging Sarbanes-Oxley Accounting Board
Government piece by Press Release: Christine Hall (5/18/09)

Not all education spending must be spared
EdukShun piece by GoldwaterInstitute: Steve Voeller (5/18/09)

In Arizona, education bureaucracy growth has greatly exceeded student growth. Between 2004 and 2008 growth in six key education components in Arizona outpaced the growth of the number of students plus inflation. At what point do we question the amount of bureaucracy in the education system?

High Ranking Pentagon Official Charged with Espionage
Crime piece by Jim Kouri (5/18/09)

A Defense Department official has been charged with conspiracy to communicate classified information to an agent of a foreign government, according to a report obtained from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Editorial: If Obama Throws Israel Under The Bus We Will have Lost Our Best Allie
Middle East piece by Editor (5/17/09)

Australia, Canada, Israel and the UK have long been our best allies.  Some have wavered at various times, but Israel has been very consistent.

President Obama Continues To Stumble Along
Government piece by Malcolm T. Hedges (5/17/09)

His regime is slowly breaking into little pieces and seems destined to become Political “Space Junk” in less than a year.

The Case for Colorblind Justice
Supreme Court piece by Offsite (5/17/09)

Frank Ricci is a man on a mission. The white firefighter from New Haven, Connecticut, is currently involved in a Supreme Court case that will soon determine whether his city government unjustly denied him a job promotion because of his skin color. More broadly, the case of Ricci v. DeStefano is shaping up as the biggest showdown over affirmative action policies in recent history.

‘Do Scottish Sand Dunes Predict 21st Century Storms?‘
Climate Change piece by Guest: Dennis T. Avery (5/17/09)

CHURCHVILLE, VA - The Culbin Sands in Scotland are one of the famed historic storm sites in the world. In 1694, the area was rich farmland, with a manor house and numerous tenant farms amid the fields and orchards. Then a “western hurricane” struck the Firth of Moray, and in two nights the howling storm had buried the houses, orchards, and 14 square miles of fields under 30 feet of sand. The sand is there today, though now covered with Corsican pine trees planted in the 1920s to keep the sand from blowing onto neighboring lands.
