Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery. - Winston Churchill

Lines In The Beach Sand. . .
  ObamaNation piece by John Ross

After a high tide, much like a national election, there is a period where the sand is smooth from the effects of the pounding surf on the sand similar to a ‘presidential election honeymoon.‘  Soon after the surf recedes Gods’ little creatures return to their habitat, or in the case of politicians ‘scene of the crime’ resuming their instinctual modes of existence.  Predicated upon the location God’s creatures find themselves in this food chain naturally dictates the level of preoccupation and energy they will expend on protecting ‘their turf’ on the beach.

History suggests that new presidents have ‘election honeymoons’ with congress before battle lines, or lines in the sand, are drawn on issues that various activist camps believe are important.  Unlike life on a beach that experiences a high tide at least once a day, congress and America’s president must anticipate, plan and initiate actions and responses that challenge their ‘lines in the sand.’  Artificial, or unnatural lines drawn in the sand, like feel-good social engineering objectives are routinely dismissed by common sense oriented leaders that consider them to be smelly pieces of seaweed.  Smothering amounts of socialist seaweed that overwhelms the balance of life, like underwriting houses for folks that cannot afford them and budget busting socialist spending may, however, be catastrophic to the U.S.

If taxpayer money is going to be spent by our new President, tangible projects that produce goods and services must be the results.  Too often studies that have already been done, or communist organizing called ‘community organizing’ is funded by liberals to shore up their welfare base, as it appears is occurring in the latest so-called stimulus bill.  Missing, obviously, in the latest stimulus bill being touted by our new President is funding to build the five high-speed rail corridors that will cut in half the fuel American airline carriers annually consume.  Also missing, conspicuously, is funding to build east and west coast solar generated power fields and, most importantly, the distribution facilities that connect to major power grids.

Experience has shown that liberal government bureaucracies use the acquisition of ‘studies’ to direct funding to organizations that they owe, or fit into their ‘pay to play’ kickback play book.  More often than not, previously generated studies and recommendations are merely ‘dusted off’ and resubmitted with a different title.  Liberal Democrat administrations always increase abstract, as against tangible, oriented funding to ‘pet’ academic institutions that are politically supportive of party objectives.  Dumping taxpayer money into recycled ‘studies’ permits politicians to sponsor the education of key constituent children and promote, groom and politically connect like-minded liberal youngsters.

Passage of the Democrats’ latest ‘stimulus bill is all but assured,’ glaringly omitted from discussion is the fact that the $700-Billion Toxic Asset Recovery Program (TARP) was just a ‘down payment.’  Seems as though a minimum of two trillion more taxpayer dollars will be needed by our new President to resolve the TARP debacle.  The irony of the TARP con-game is that home loan interest rates should be at, based on what a 91-day Treasury bill pays, 3%.  Reducing mortgage rates from today’s 5% to 3% would free up more than enough cash for qualified buyers to absorb all of the so-called toxic assets.  Forcing our ‘honorable’ banking institutions to responsibly respond to market conditions is not, apparently, in our new liberal President’s playbook.

Couple the aforementioned with the very strong probability that our new liberal President will prevent any new offshore oil drilling, curtail the use of coal and allow banks to keep mortgage rates high and you get a deep economic recession.  So: If you can keep people ignorant…You can control them.
