We Don’t Like to Stock That, It Sells Too Well
Socialism piece by Guest:
Michael R. Shannon (11/20/09)
I imagine the Postmaster General grinds his teeth when he thinks about how much easier his life would be, if he had a monopoly like the “public” schools. If customers were forced to buy the equivalent postage before they were allowed to ship FEDEX or UPS his competition worries would be over.

‘Hacked e-mails reveal global-warming fraud?‘
Global Warming piece by Offsite
(11/20/09)
Top climate scientists discuss hiding contrary data, marginalizing dissenters - Officials at a key global warming research center in the United Kingdom have authenticated a series of e-mails and other documents apparently taken from their computer system by a hacker, but they cannot explain what scientists in internal exchanges meant by references to a “trick” that would “hide the decline” of global temperatures nor by instructions to delete contrary data.
Civilian Trials Provide Soapboxes for Terrorists
Terrorism piece by J. D. Longstreet
(11/20/09)
So now we are going to try the terrorists in civilian federal trials in New York City, just blocks away from the site of the former World Trade Center Twin Towers, where 3,000 innocents were murdered. Can you possible see how this move by the Obama Regime makes the US appear weak, indecisive, and just plain DUMB to our enemies?
DDT: The Silent Killer…Only When It Was Gone
Junk Science piece by Kevin Roeten
(11/20/09)
Because mosquitoes were almost nonexistent with the use of DDT in places like Africa, elimination of DDT brought mosquitoes back - in force. The 1972 ban of DDT in the U.S. did not help matters at all. Now, many less effective and more costly methods are used - netting, other chemicals, you name it. But from the “Malaria Clock” listed in the following paragraphs, one gets an idea of exactly how many deaths have occured, especially from malaria.

Still No Justice For Officer Daniel Faulkner
Crime piece by Dave Gibson
(1/8/09)
Last month marked the 27th anniversary of the murder of Philadelphia Police Officer Daniel Faulkner. While the voice of Officer Faulkner has been silent for a quarter of a century, his killer is very much alive and his voice is heard quite often. The former Black Panther named Mumia Abu-Jamal (born Wesley Cook) gives numerous interviews, delivers college commencement speeches, and even has a street named in in his honor. Despite his conviction and subsequent death sentence, Abu-Jamal continues to thumb his nose at the justice system, while enjoying the adulation of foreign leaders as well as Hollywood celebrities.

The Global Warming Crescendo Has Passed
Global Warming piece by Christopher Adamo
(1/8/09)
As the cold of winter settles in on the northern hemisphere, all of the hysteria of “global warming,” or its less specific alternative “climate change,” rings increasingly hollow to the general public. Weather patterns of the past decade indicate that the planet has been in an undeniable cooling trend since prior to the new millennium. So the panicked prophesies of cataclysmic upturns in the earth’s average temperature simply do not carry the emotional impact that they once held.

Obama’s Revolutionary “Vision”
ObamaNation piece by Cliff Kincaid
(1/7/09)
On the Fox News program “Hannity & Colmes” in December, analyst Dick Morris made the absolutely critical point that President Bush has taken the country so far to the left, in terms of his socialist-style Wall Street bailout program and his integration of the U.S. economy into a new emerging international financial order, that anything Barack Obama does in this area seems almost mainstream. This is because what we were expecting from Obama we are now getting from Bush. So Obama doesn’t look so radical anymore.

‘Is It Time to Raise Gasoline Taxes?‘
Economics piece by Offsite
(1/7/09)
When we blogged about gasoline taxes on July 21, 2008, the sharp rise in gasoline prices to over $4 a gallon reduced the gasoline consumption that contributes to global warming, local pollution, auto accidents, congestion, and other externalities from driving. I suggested that if it were desirable to use gas taxes to reduce gasoline consumption, a better time would be when gasoline prices were much lower.
The Reign of the Mediacracy
MSM piece by Offsite
(1/7/09)
Newsmen and broadcasters commonly refer to their reports as “stories,“ a giveaway term that should alert us to the nature of their presentations. Each item tends to read or sound or look like another installment in an ongoing soap opera or melodramatic fiction in which actual events are treated as material to be arranged into a favoured narrative. The key is simplification to accord with an editorial bias meant not to inform but to influence the news audience and to facilitate a process of ideologically-oriented political consumption.
‘No Experience in new CIA Chief Somehow Shows Obama’s ‘Clean Break from Bush Administration’?‘
ObamaNation piece by Warner Todd Huston
(1/7/09)
To paraphrase Forrest Gump, Inexperienced is as inexperienced does. At least that is what comes to my mind when hearing that Barack Obama has picked the inoffensive, completely inexperienced and unqualified Leon Panetta to be the new director of the CIA. Really. Leon Panetta? The onetime director of the Office of Management and Budget Panetta, that Leon Panetta? This old Clinton partisan has absolutely no experience whatsoever with intelligence gathering or the administration of the same. None. Zip. Nadda.
