Stopping the next amnesty is not enough
Immigration piece by Offsite
(11/7/09)
If you think a congressional amnesty for 15 million illegal aliens is a bad idea, think about a stealth amnesty for 50 million. That’s what we’ve got now even without any new legislation from the 111th Congress.
Junk-science huckster
Global Warming piece by Offsite

Responding to modern Marxism
The Republic piece by Offsite
(11/7/09)
The first unmistakable tremors were recorded on April 15. The earth shook again throughout the month of August, when politicians returned home to face their constituents. Those brave souls who dared to hold a town hall meeting were met with enthusiastic questions about cap-and-trade, about the stimulus, about health care and about what appears to be a mad rush to socialism.

Costly Shibboleths
ObamaNation piece by Offsite
(2/25/09)
Barack Obama set out a few modest goals in his address to both chambers of Congress last night: cure cancer, reform Social Security and Medicare, destroy al-Qaeda, end our dependence on foreign oil, promise education to every American “from the day they are born” to the day they begin work, and “save our planet from the ravages of climate change.“ The few prescriptions for accomplishing these gargantuan tasks, free from details or pricetags, were plucked from a laundry list of the Left’s favorite economic shibboleths. Large and small, few are in themselves disastrous, but taken together, they will likely forestall or deplete any economic recovery the nation may enjoy.

Welcome to an Era of Excessive Government
ObamaNation piece by Offsite
(2/25/09)
“Neither a borrower nor lender be for loan oft loses both itself and friend and borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry. This above all, to thine own self be true. And it must follow, as the night the day thou canst not then be false to any man,“ William Shakespeare, Hamlet, Act 1, Scene 3.

Eric Holder’s right - in 1 sense
Racism piece by Offsite
(2/25/09)
Attorney General Eric Holder said the United States is “a nation of cowards” when it comes to race relations. In one sense, he is absolutely right. Many whites, from university administrators and professors, schoolteachers to employers and public officials accept behavior from black people that they wouldn’t begin to accept from whites. For example, some of the nation’s most elite universities, such as Vanderbilt, Stanford University and the University of California, have yielded to black student demands for separate graduation ceremonies and separate “celebratory events.“ Universities such as Stanford, Cornell, MIT and Cal Berkeley have, or have had, segregated dorms.
Gov. Jindal, Faust and the devil
Big Brother piece by Offsite
(2/25/09)
During these perilous times we live in, I often find solace by retreating to my classical music background and the literature that sustained the classical masters for hundreds of years. In particular during America’s current economic recession/depression and the recently passed economic stimulus plan of $787 billion ($3.67 trillion in actual spending costs over three years), my mind hearkens back to that magnificent German playwright from the Romantic Era, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832), particularly his dramatic epic poem in two volumes, “Faust” (1808, 1833). Goethe’s “Faust” made a deal with the devil (Mephistopheles), which by the end of this epic poem not only cost the good professor Faust his life, but also the lives of those people he loved, including the fated young lover Marguerite.
LBJ’s Great Society on steroids
ObamaNation piece by Offsite
(2/25/09)
Under the subterfuge of helping the economy, Barack Obama’s stimulus plan legislates vast new spending programs to finance liberal policy goals that are unnecessary and undesirable. The flow of taxpayers’ money will be so gargantuan as to make Lyndon B. Johnson’s Great Society expansion of the welfare state look puny.
CNN Claims Obama The New Ronald Reagan, Reassigns ‘Morning in America’ to The One
MSM piece by Warner Todd Huston
(2/25/09)
Once again CNN goes over the top(1) in its gobsmacked praise of its Obammessiah. This time appropriating Ronald Reagan’s famous “morning in America” theme and assigning it to President Obama as a result of his not-the-state-of-the-union speech last night. In reality, Obama’s speech was more like a “moaning in America” as opposed to that bright new morning that Reagan invoked.
The Coming Battle over Reapportionment and Redistricting
Politics piece by Bruce Walker
(2/25/09)
The decision by Senator Gregg not to become Commerce Secretary is the first round in a vital battle over reapportionment and redistricting. Title 13 Section 2 provides “The Bureau [of the Census] is an agency within, and under the jurisdiction of, the Department of Commerce.” President Obama and his Chief of Staff lack the legal authority to move the Bureau of the Census under the direct control of the White House, and an indirect effort to do that - - exactly what the Obama Administration has said that it intends to do - - is a contravention of federal law. Article I Section 2 of the Constitution makes it clear that Congress, not the President, has the constitutional authority to define the census process. If President Obama tries to politically manage the census process, he is not only violating federal law but he is also violating the Constitution.
Wistful and Self-Absorbed, Obama Needs to be Interrupted by Pelosi
ObamaNation piece by Yomin Postelnik
(2/25/09)
It’s a sad day when the most regal person on stage at the State of the Union is Nancy Pelosi, but that’s exactly what happened last night. And despite the media accolades, the fact that Barack Hussein Obama’s first entrance into the US House of Representatives had all the pomp and circumstance of Hugo Chavez at the racetrack was as clear as day.
Slowing down Obama’s Spending Wheel
Economics piece by Greg Fink
(2/25/09)
So, let me see if I got it correct, America is spending far too much money fighting terrorism and stabilizing the Middle East at a tune of $650 billion since 2003; the result, we try to pull out in the next 19 months in order to rescue America’s economic future.
A Lament for Britain
NewWorldOrder piece by Aaron Goldstein
(2/25/09)
Fourteen winters ago, I spent a semester in London as a parliamentary intern in the British House of Commons where I had stints with two Members of Parliament from the Labour Party. My second placement was with a MP from Glasgow named Jimmy Wray. Jimmy and I got along famously. I was one of the few people who could understand his thick Scottish burr. We were a perfect match.

Progressivism piece by Rev Bresciani
(2/25/09)
Appearing briefly on Fox’s Glenn Beck show Feb 23, 2009, Dutch Freedom Party MP, Geert Wilders said “we should throw out every bit of hate crime legislation that is ever proposed.“ Why would he say this and why should we take him seriously?

Why is VAWA in the stimulus package?: Keynesian Economics and Obama’s New New Deal Gone Madly Awry.
Economics piece by Offsite
(2/24/09)
I will warn you that this is a longer piece than I usually write and is not suitable in length for newspaper columns. It may take you fifteen or twenty minutes to read it, rather than the usual three. But I offer this for your investment of time: you will learn many things about our economy and the plans for its recovery that you might not know and may be surprised to learn, if not in some instances be outright shocked. I may not get you to change your viewpoint, but you will be challenged to think about some of the most important problems facing America today with facts you probably will be learning for the very first time. Much, if not most, of what I will be telling you cannot be found in mainstream newspapers.

Phony Stimulus - The Congressional Budget Office Tells It As It Is
Economics piece by FreeCongressFoundation:
Marion Edwyn Harrison (2/24/09)
In move hailed in so much of the media as a victory which will re-ignite the American economy and create millions of jobs, President Barack H. Obama recently signed H.R. 1, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, or, as it is more commonly known, the “Stimulus Bill.” Lobbyists, states and various groups now are lining up to claim their piece of the pie, while the Obama Administration has modified its rhetoric about the impact the bill will have upon the economy. White House spokesman Robert Gibbs stated, “[The economy] has not yet bottomed out. [It is] probably going to get worse before [it] improves. But this is a big step toward making that improvement and putting people back to work.” Gibbs also hinted at the prospect of another, similar bill should the economy not recover in the near future.
Racist in a taxpayer-paid suit
Racism piece by Offsite
(2/24/09)
For many the name “Cliburn” is immediately thought of as being preceded by “Van” as in “Van Cliburn,“ and is associated with masterful piano arrangements by Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff. However, we now know that, spelling notwithstanding, the name isn’t that of an accomplished pianist extraordinaire; rather, it is spelled “Clyburn” as in Rep. James Clyburn, D-S.C., and that he is a bigoted, desperate politician who has made a career out of the loathsome practice of pushing set-asides, pork projects, increased government intrusion and race-baiting.
California’s descent into mediocrity
Socialism piece by Offsite
(2/24/09)
Virtually throughout its history, and certainly in the 20th century, California has been known as the place to go for dynamism and growth. It did not become the richest, most populous and most productive state solely because of its weather and natural resources.
‘Is bill lying in wait to ban handguns?‘
Police State piece by Offsite

Tucked away in committee on Capitol Hill is a firearm licensing bill that Second Amendment advocates worry may just be waiting for the right “Columbine moment” to emerge and effectively ban handguns in the U.S.
The Deceits of Bridges TV
Islam piece by Daniel Pipes
(2/24/09)
On the occasion of its launch in 2004 from near Buffalo, New York, the Muslim television channel “Bridges TV” won the enthusiastic support of Secretary of State Colin Powell’s media assistant, Stuart Holliday: “I laud your expression of interest in promoting understanding and tolerance.“ And so it went; Bridges TV also met with euphoric media coverage, uncritical academic reaction, and blessings from sports giants like Muhammad Ali and Hakeem Olajuwan.
What Every Christian Should Know About The New World Order
NewWorldOrder piece by Guest:
(2/24/09)
I am amazed at how ignorant and seemingly unconcerned many of my Christian brethren appear regarding the very real threat to our liberties that a burgeoning New World Order presents. I have previously written two columns on this subject that I trust all my readers will share with their pastors and fellow churchmen (along with others, of course).

Obama approval falls back to average
Elections piece by Offsite
(2/24/09)
Though he began his presidency with the second highest approval rating in the Gallup Poll’s history of tracking the statistic, Barack Obama’s numbers have dropped back to merely average, driven by Republicans who are growing increasingly unhappy with the president’s policies.
