Mainstream Press Protects ACLU Pervert...Instead of Children

"Somewhere along the line, many Americans relegated the media to a notch on the morality scale only slightly above that of child molesters." - Gregory Kane, Baltimore Sun, 1997 On February 23, 2007, former president of the Virginia chapter of the ACLU Charles Rust-Tierney was arrested at his home in Arlington, Va. and charged with receiving and possessing child pornography. Rust-Tierney had been the target of an ongoing investigation conducted by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency as well as the Arlington County Police. Despite the news worthiness of this story, the mainstream press has failed to cover it.
The former head of the Virginia chapter of the ACLU pled guilty and was sentenced last September to seven years in federal prison. His plea agreement stated that the images of child pornography he downloaded were of "sadistic or masochistic conduct."
Rust-Tierney owned numerous computer discs filled with images of young girls being victimized. The investigation report described prepubescent girls "seen and heard crying" and many "bound by rope." There were even videos discovered in his home which depicted infants being tortured and raped. Due to the incredibly heinous nature of the material, U.S. District Court Judge Barry R. Poretz ordered the former ACLU chief held in jail until his trial.
Rust-Tierney confessed that he had received over 850 pornographic images of children as young as four years-old. Police also discovered a six-minute video which depicted small children being sexually brutalized set to music by the band Nine Inch Nails. He ordinarily viewed the disgusting images on a computer located in his 10 year-old son's bedroom.
Rust-Tierney used his credit card to buy images from various child pornography websites, for which he paid a total of $420. At some point Rust-Tierney must have been worried that his porn funds were dwindling, because court documents showed that he e-mailed a website asking for free access to a video which sold for $100. To his sick delight, the webmaster complied and sent him a free link to the material.
Prosecutors were able to identify more than 30 individual child victims shown in the images collected by Rust-Tierney. The pictures and videos were produced both overseas as well as inside the United States.
As president of the Virginia ACLU of Virginia, Charles Rust-Tierney brought lawsuits against local authorities in an attempt to keep pornographic websites available on public library computers. He once said that "older minors should have access to resources appropriate for their age group, even if some materials may be considered by some parents to be unsuitable for younger minors."
Shortly after Rust-Tierney´s arrest, Enough Is Enough spokeswoman Cris Clapper released the following statement: "When Mr. Rust-Tierney argued before the Loudon County Library Board that unrestricted access to the resources of the internet was essential for our children's ability to learn and communicate, and when groups like the ACLU contend that acceptable use policies alone are capable of protecting children online, they fail to acknowledge the tragic and devastating effects to children and families of both intentional and unintentional access to online pornography."
In contrast to their almost obsessive coverage of the Catholic Church child sex-abuse scandal, the American news media buried the arrest of a top ACLU official on child pornography charges. The Washington Post ran one small piece in section two of their paper, while the New York Times has remained totally silent on the event. With the exception of Fox News´ Bill O´Reilly, none of the major networks nor the cable news outlets have covered this story.
Instead of reporting on an ACLU lawyer who not only defends child pornography in court but is himself seemingly obsessed with the vile material, the press decided to carry more news on the death of ever-inebriated Anna Nicole Smith. On March 2, 2007 (eight days after Rust-Tierney´s arrest), the watchdog group Think Progress recorded the number of Anna Nicole references made by the three cable networks. The results are as follows:
-Fox News...121
-MSNBC...96
-CNN...40
Consider a few of the very disturbing facts around the Rust-Tierney case: 1) The fact that the ACLU child porn collector is also a youth sports coach. He coached several teams in and around Arlington, and was actually president of the Arlington, Va. Little League This activity brought him in enormous contact with children. 2) Rust-Tierney also worked in the Washington D.C. Public Defender Service. Since 1990, he had worked exclusively with mentally ill defendants. It does not require a Harvard degree to make note of the fact that this monster continued to place himself in a position of authority over those amongst us who are most vulnerable.
3) In light of the large amount of pornographic material which police removed from the Rust-Tierney home, it would seem likely that his wife knew of his horrible obsession. However, you will never hear that very real possibility brought up by the left-leaning news media. Diannn Rust-Tierney is the director of the National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty.
In addition to their work on behalf of terrorists and murderers, the ACLU continues to defend the North American Man Boy Love Association (NAMBLA). That group is dedicated to grown men raping young boys. The ACLU frequently fights for the ability of sexual deviants to exploit and indoctrinate children. In fact, the ACLU has sued the federal government because they believed that the Child Pornography Prevention Act of 1996 placed unfair limitations on free speech, as well as upon the ability of pedophiles to view so-called "virtual child pornography."
In 2000, executive director of the Massachusetts ACLU John Roberts went to court to defend NAMBLA when two men kidnapped, raped, and murdered 10 year old Jeffrey Curley of Cambridge, Mass. Shortly before the pair abducted the boy, they visited NAMBLA's website which contained graphic images of child rape, police also found NAMBLA literature in the home
of one of the murderers. Roberts stated the ACLU's position on child pornography when he said: "Mere possession should not be a crime."
The press has a responsibility to report on the activities of any individual or group which endangers the public. Giving a pass to child molesters and pornographers makes the American mainstream press complicit in the exploitation of defenseless children. You will never see NBC's Chris Hansen exposing the child predators of the ACLU!
The one excuse that they will use for not covering Rust-Tierney´s prosecution and the connection between child molesters and the ACLU, is that he was not the president of Virginia's chapter at the time of his arrest (His term lasted from 1993-2005.). However, that argument is nullified by the fact that he was still an active member of the group's board of directors, he resigned that position on the same day he was arrested.
It is hard to imagine that the mainstream media can sink any lower. However, I am certain that they will somehow continue their downward spiral towards complete biasness and irrelevance.
